When the valve is opened, the upward aerodynamic force, the self-weight of the valve disc and the frictional force continue to act. EXSAFE uses a wide body flow channel, effective stress area and precision manufacturing to bring the resultant force close to balance and reduce the risk of the valve disc repeatedly colliding with the valve seat.
